I am Brooke Thompson, and I have been an active member of the Global Methodist church here in Virginia since it officially started in July 2023 with the establishment of the Transitional District Advisory Team (TDAT), where I found immense joy in contributing to the growth and development of our community. In my local church I have been a part of the leadership for many years helping to lead mission teams abroad, lead Vacation Bible School locally, while running social media and churches website.
I am proud to call Elk Run Evangelical Church in Elkton, VA, my home church. Being a part of this congregation has been a source of inspiration and fulfillment for me. My heart finds purpose in missions, both locally and internationally, with a special connection to the beautiful country of Peru.
In my walk with God, I have come to cherish the significance of serving not only within the walls of our church but also in the broader community and abroad. The call to be a beacon of love and support drives me to engage in missions that make a tangible impact on the lives of those we touch.
One of my core beliefs is the importance of ensuring that every individual has a voice and feels heard. I am passionate about building a community where everyone is valued and embraced. This belief is not just a personal conviction but is deeply rooted in my understanding of the essence of a church community. In our unity, we find strength, and in our diversity, we discover richness.
I am excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for the Global Methodist Church here in Virginia as we grow, but I'm even more excited to be working with everyone to grow the Kingdom of God right here in Virginia.
