Living Stones: Building a Firm Foundation

“As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house.”

1 Peter 2:4-5

Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ! The Virginia Provisional Annual Conference invites you to join us for our Inaugural Annual Conference being held May 31st through June 1st at Beulah Methodist Church in Chesterfield, Virginia. As God grounds the work of the GMC in Virginia we look forward to gathering together to lay a firm foundation for our churches to grow and flourish for generations to come.

What to Expect

Our conference will be a full two days worshiping, fellowshipping, learning, and doing the work of God. There will be two voting sessions. On Friday, our delegates will affirm our leadership, bylaws and budget. On Saturday, our delegates will vote on the Conference delegates to the GMC’s Convening Conference that will be held in Costa Rica in September. More information will be coming soon about the nomination process for those elections.

We are excited to offer three training opportunities with three options each! Friday morning will have classes focused on discipleship for your congregations. The afternoon will explore ways to build a culture of gospel-centered holiness in your congregations and people. Saturday provides opportunities to develop practical solutions for church organization and administration. You can view classes on our website and pick your preferences when you register!

Interspersed throughout the business and learning of Conference we will have multiple times of worship. You will not want to miss the opening service on Friday where Rev. John Bright will lead us in a concert of prayer to help us prepare our hearts and receive the presence of the Holy Spirit into our conference. President Pro Tempore Greg West, Vice President Pro Tempore Brandon Nichols, and Bishop Webb will lead different services to share God’s heart for building His kingdom here, as well as have a time of Q & A so you can hear the vision for our Conference. Friday’s activities will close with an extended time of praise and worship for all who would like to remain. Lastly, Saturday will close with the Ordination service where we will celebrate those God is setting apart as ordained clergy.
