Born in Maryville, TN, and raised in East TN until college, David journeyed through various roles and experiences that have shaped his life. Currently, David serves at Stand Firm Christian Church in Culpeper, VA, a community that was founded in May 2023 after departing from the UMC.

David’s faith journey began at 11, but it wasn't until 1998 that he fully surrendered to Christ. Educationally, David graduated from Surgoinsville HS and earned a BS in Social Sciences from Bluefield College, following which he served in the US Army and later as a US Probation Officer.

David’s calling to ministry emerged from a period of personal rediscovery. He became a certified lay speaker, delved into men's ministry, and specialized in helping men become spiritual leaders. At Stand Firm Christian Church, David chairs the gathering team in the Virginia GMC and actively contributes to his community's growth.

Outside of ministry, David officiated Virginia High School League basketball for 35 years, finding joy in both sports and service. David’s favorite scripture is, 1 Peter 3:15, which guides his approach to life and ministry, reminding him to always share the hope he has found with gentleness and respect.
