Locust Grove Church is a well-established rural church located in Dutton, Virginia which lies within the boundaries of Mathews County, on the Chesapeake Bay. Services are held at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays, with a current average worship attendance of fifty-eight. All services are live-streamed on the church's Facebook Page, YouTube channel and Instagram. There are opportunities for Christian education at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday with classes for children, youth, young adults, and adults. The church also offers a nursery. Bible studies are offered throughout the year and small groups are encouraged. All Bible study group meetings are offered during the day and during the evenings, to accommodate both working and retired individuals. The Zoom platform is offered if there is a need.
Locust Grove is faithfully engaged with the local community. On the church property stands a three thousand, two hundred square foot enclosed Pavilion. The building has a full kitchen, restrooms, and fourteen large roll-up doors that can be opened during pleasant weather or closed during inclement weather. The Pavilion is frequently used for church dinners, fundraisers, and meetings. However, the facility is also offered to the community as a place to gather for things such as birthdays, weddings, baby showers, and gatherings after funerals, along with community support groups. There is no charge for community use of the facility, but donations are often given.
Locust Grove is committed to the spread of the Gospel Message. We are an inviting church that understands we must meet our brothers and sisters where they are on their faith journey if we are to be effective disciples of Jesus and help others become disciples of Christ as well. All are welcome at Locust Grove Church so they may experience the transforming power and saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
